Girls – Album
Every douche bag tastemaker publication is hailing this as the next best thing so rest assured, it sucks. The same people that told you Dan Deacon was good are raving about Girls. Naw I’m sayin’? Really it’s just some whiney bitch with long hair crying about his ex-girlfriend while trying to make a surf pop record. The guitars don’t sound in tune at times, I suppose in an attempt to hide their straight up pop tendencies and his voice resembles Elvis Costello, except annoying to the point of being unlistenable.

oh, and I don't care how fucked up his childhood was. Everything I've read about this band has to mention that he grew up in a cult, ran away and became a prostitute or something until some millionaire took him. something like that. it doesn't make the album any better.
ReplyDeleteI never heard this band, But I heard the guys cult story. I sure do love origin stories and I don't care what you say I like Bon Iver, back story and all.
